Pictures are worth a thousand words, especially this little gem, I stumbled upon my parent’s house this weekend. Mom is overbearing but caring, however Dad is humble but generous.
By far, their personalities, were on different ends of the spectrum. Just like 2 oddly shaped jigsaw pieces, that happened to fit perfectly together. Looking at the photo, it’s obvious, who’s the one drinking milk. Growing up, my parents saw me struggle, through the excitement ,yet painful chapters of adolescence.
From my passive aggressive buzzcut phase, influenced by Hardcore Punk Bands like “Youth of Today” and “Minor Threat”. That lead up to my transition from Skate Tees to Plaid Button Downs from J.Crew, after I started to get into Emo Bands like “Texas Is The Reason”. The struggle was real!
However, my parents always had my back. During this bumpy journey to become a man. They got me through some major low points of my life. Challenges to fit in, hold a job and health issues.
Their unconditional love is worth more than a thousand words. Mom and Dad, although you both were never perfect. Imperfection made me become the man I am today.
